What ODM Means for Uniform Buyers

ODM = we do the design and development work, then produce the finished garment. Relevant when you're building a program from scratch — new hotel opening, brand relaunch, or expanding into a new category.

Not a shortcut around quality. More involved than OEM — longer timeline, higher sample cost — but the end result is a garment that's fully yours.

How ODM Differs From OEM

Core difference: who develops the design. OEM = you bring the design. ODM = we develop from your brief. Both result in the same thing: your label, your garment, from our factory.

If you already have a tech pack, OEM is more efficient. Many clients use both — OEM for core styles, ODM for new categories.

What to Send Us to Start

Brand Guidelines

Style guide with palettes, typography, brand tone.

Best input: most on-brief first round.

Mood Board / References

Images of uniforms you like, colour directions, competitor references.

Common: most hospitality clients start here.

Reference Garments

Physical samples from previous supplier or off-the-rack references.

Fastest for fit: speeds pattern development.

Written Brief

Property type, staff roles, silhouette, colour, climate considerations.

Works alone: we ask follow-ups to fill gaps.

Competitor Inspiration

Hotel websites, social media, trade press showing programs you admire.

Minimum: enough to begin, more back-and-forth.

Partial Spec or Sketch

Internal sketches, rough spec, hand-drawn illustrations.

Good bridge: concept without garment tech.

Design Ownership & IP

Designs developed under ODM belong to you once the development fee is paid. We do not resell ODM designs to other clients. Exclusivity clauses available in production agreements.

ODM — Common Questions

How much does ODM cost vs OEM?
ODM includes design work before sampling — higher development fee. Quoted upfront. Development costs partially credited toward production.
Can you develop a full hotel program under ODM?
Yes. Reception, housekeeping, F&B, security, management — treated as a single visual identity project.
What if I don't like the first sketches?
One round of design revisions included. Fundamentally different direction may require additional development work, quoted accordingly.
How long before production can start?
6–10 weeks from brief to production approval. Clear brief with quick approvals can compress to 5–6 weeks.
