Fabric & Materials — Hotel Uniforms & Business Suits

Fabric & Materials: What Goes Into the Garments We Make

The fabric is most of what you're paying for. We source mill-direct — wool and poly-wool for business suits, polyester and poly-cotton blends for hotel uniforms. This covers what we use, why, and what to specify when ordering.

How to Specify Fabric for Your Order

Colour reference: Pantone code, physical swatch, or reference garment. Lab dip submitted before production fabric is ordered. Critical for hotel programs where team consistency is required.

Weight and composition: Specify GSM and composition. If unknown, describe the end use — "office suit, air-conditioned, year-round" is enough for a good recommendation.

Wash standard: Confirm target wash temperature: 40°C, 60°C, or commercial laundry. This determines fabric and construction choice.

CMT (client-supplied fabric) accepted. Fabric needed at factory 5 days before planned cutting. Common when clients have existing fabric contracts or specific certification requirements.

Fabric & Materials — Common Questions

Half canvas vs full canvas — which should I order?
Half canvas for TR/poly-wool at standard OEM price points. Full canvas for wool-rich/100% wool at higher price points. Half canvas for corporate uniform programs, full canvas for premium private label.
Can you match a specific Pantone colour for hotel uniforms?
Yes. Lab dips submitted for review before ordering production fabric. Most colours matched within 2 rounds. Standard corporate colours often have stock fabric available.
Do hotel uniform fabrics hold up to 60°C commercial laundry?
Standard polyester twill rated for 60°C. We specify fabrics appropriate for stated end use. Poly-cotton may shrink at 60°C — we'll recommend pre-shrunk options if needed.
Is OEKO-TEX certified fabric available?
Yes, on request. Available from our supplier network at additional cost. Certification documents included with shipment. Most common for European hotel groups.
