Why Sampling Matters More Than Expected

Most production problems — fit issues, wrong fabric weight, construction mismatches — show up in the sample, not in production. A properly reviewed and approved sample is the single most effective protection for your order.

We flag issues ourselves. If we see a proportion that'll cause fit problems, or construction that won't survive commercial laundry, we raise it before you do.

Types of Samples

Fit Sample (Proto)

First physical sample from your spec. Checks silhouette, fit, proportions, construction. The one you mark up.

Standard for: all first orders

Counter Sample

Revised sample incorporating your corrections. Usually resolves all issues and becomes the production reference.

Standard for: orders needing corrections

Pre-Production (PP)

In confirmed production fabric, colour, and trimmings. Final quality checkpoint before full run.

Recommended for: first orders, new fabric lots

Size Set Samples

Multiple sizes to confirm grading proportions. Recommended for wide size ranges (XS–3XL).

Optional for: wide size range orders

Presentation-quality for showing buyers before committing to production. Full production spec.

Optional for: private label pre-sell

Fabric / Lab Dip

Physical swatches and dye colour samples submitted for approval. Required before production fabric is ordered.

Sampling — Common Questions

How to provide feedback effectively?
Specific, numbered corrections mapped to measurements. "Reduce shoulder 1cm" is actionable. "Make it more fitted" requires interpretation.
Do you send photos before the physical sample?
Yes. Flat lay and detail photos sent digitally before dispatch so you can start reviewing in transit.
Can I sample multiple styles at once?
Yes. For hotel programs with multiple garments, we develop all styles in the same cycle. Each approved independently.
How many revision rounds should I budget?
Most orders: 1 round. Simple garments with clear specs sometimes need none. Budget 1 standard, 1 contingency.
